The primary purpose of this research line is the knowledge, dissemination and implementation value of the drawing talent of the great masters in the history of the Spanish art.

The Catalogue Raisonné of drawings by Murillo is the culmination of an exhaustive analysis and constitutes an obligatory reference point on the knowledge of this artist’s facet. The study of drawings, the extraordinary selection meeting for the exhibition at the Fundación Botín (2012) and visits to the most important collections of drawing have enabled Manuela Mena to update thoroughly the Corpus of Murillo’s drawings. The researcher’s texts, the cataloguing fact-sheets of more than one hundred drawings with their corresponding images, chronology, bibliography, appendices and indices make this Catalogue Raisonné, a publication of vital reference for researchers and scholars of the drawings of the great Spanish masters and, especially those of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo.
