Um caminho que não é um camino (A Road That Is Not A Road), 2005
Wood, steel and mirror
Fernanda Fragateiro is interested in exploring the urbanenvironment and how it is shaped by architecture, both fromthe standpoint of form and function. Hence, the socialdimension of architecture and the way it conditions humaninteraction and its organization is an important concern in herformal research, which is equally predicated on her rethinkingof the relationship between architecture and sculpture. Indeed, most of her works take their formal cue from architecturaldetails or fragments, while some are actually made out offound construction material she gathers while roaming aroundthe city.
