Album E is an album of drawings that Goya almost certainly wanted to publish. We know this because the drawings are very well finished, with a delicate black frame around them, and the paper used is larger than usual.
All the drawings in this album show people in different situations in which their emotions can be easily distinguished. The ones you are looking at now show two very typical situations in those days. On the one hand, two women fighting over the love of the same man, and on the other, an elderly teacher shouting and hitting a child to get him to learn.
As we said before, Goya drew things that affected him, and which he disagreed with. Drawing them was his way of protesting and telling others about it. And what about you? How do you tell others about things you don’t agree with?
