In 2008, Carsten Höller helped many people make their dream come true: sleeping in a museum. First, he created Rotating Hotel Room for the Guggenheim Museum New York. Elevator Bed completes de concept.
One or two people can spend the night at the Botín Centre, sleeping in this room, in this bed. The installation rotates and rises to a maximum height of 3.5 metres. The sleeping beauties can look at the exhibition from above while having a unique experience on a bed that matches the characteristics of those in a luxury hotel.
The question is, would you be able to sleep in a place that has nothing in common with any ordinary bedroom? How would you feel? Does the architecture of a room determine its function or is it what it contains that defines its purpose?
