Bárbara Rodriguez Muñoz
Bárbara Rodríguez Muñoz is Director of exhibitions and the collection at Centro Botín and member of the Advisory Committee of Visual Arts. From 2014 to 2021 she was curator at Wellcome Collection, London where she developed an artistic program anchored in the historical and contemporary collections of the institution including “Jo Spence & Oreet Ashery: Misbehaving Bodies” and “Rooted Beings” (A vegetal encounter) in collaboration with La Casa Encendida. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with prominent institutions such as South London Gallery, Freud Museum, The Royal Opera House London, Gropius Bau or MAAS Sydney.
Barbara is editor of the HEALTH anthology, part of the acclaimed ‘Documents of Contemporary Art’ series, published by MIT Press and Whitechapel Gallery. She has also published in Art Agenda, Afterall, Concreta, Gwangju Biennale, Les Laboratoires d ’Aubervilliers, MARG, and Mousse, and has lectured at Goldsmiths, London College of Communication, and Central St Martins. She has a Master’s in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art (London) thanks to a Scholarship from the Botín Foundation (2011). She has been part of the jury of the Visual Arts 2017, participating in the catalog of Itineraries XXIV.
